Omg tutorial. O_O

Made in Photoshop CS. Selective coloring included.



So I got my image and cropped it. It's Aoi. God, is he not sexy? It's like...*drool*...erm.

Ok, I'm done. I swear. XD

1) So, sharpen the image a bit. And do it ever so slightly. Like, we're talking put the brush on 4% and just glean over the icon. Then duplicate the base and put it on Soft Light, 100%.



2) Go to selective coloring, put the following levels in on Relative.

Reds: -100, +100, +100, 0
Yellows: -100, +100, +100, 0
Magentas: -100, +100, +100, 0
Neutrals: +32, -12, -50, +10

And you get...



Omg. That is like...not even expressing the sexiness that is Aoi. D:

3) Let's fix this bzns nao. Kthx.

Selective coloring, Relative:

Reds: 0, +15, +19, 0
Yellows: -100, +100, +100, 0
Cyans: +49, 0, 0, 0
Blues: +29, 0, 0, 0
Magentas: +10, +100, +48
Neutrals: 0, 0, +18, +5

4) Now let's texture-whore him. >3

First, this one by [info]spiritcoda: on Lighten, 100%. Drag it all the way down below the selective coloring layers. You can put it between the soft light layer and base, or in front of the soft light layer. I put it between them. Then color the sparklies over Aoi's face with black so it doesn't look like he has glowing acne. omg that would be so nasty...like what if someone actually DID have glowing acne?

Next, this one by [info]haudvafra: on Lighten, 100%. Leave it on the top. Color over the greenish part with black.

Now, this one (I don't know who made it--let me know so I can credit): . Put it on Lighten, 100%, and turn it 180º around so the sparklies don't cover Aoi's face. I erased a few of them so they weren't TOO overwhelming.

And lastly--this one (again, don't know who made it): . Put it on Screen, 100%. Then erase a few of them so they don't cover Aoi's face too much.

And then put this one (no idea): . Inverse it (Ctrl+I) and then put it on screen, 100%. Drag it up a little ways. I got the Georgia font, put it on 12 pt and did an & symbol.

This is the final product:



Feel free to piddle around with it and what not. xD I usually don't go this texture heavy, but I likes them this way. <3 Oh, and if you do follow this tutorial, lemme see what you make!!

i dont make icons (cuz i suck haha) but i do use icon tuts to help me modify pics and all. so here's what I ended up with, (and added a little bit of texture on my part) ehehe :

Thank you for this tutorial! I loved it :D It was very helpful for someone who is a complete n00b at Photoshop (I used GIMP before, but.. well.. didn't really work the way I wanted to).
